Today, 25 Jan 2012 the 3rd day of CNY started with a bang for the S'pore stock market. By 3:45pm, the index is up by 34 pts. SIA is on the upward trend to $10.96 up 17 cts from last Friday closing. So is DBS,Genting (S), NOL and others.
The market has been real sick the whole of last year but it looks promising this year. Remember the saying "what goes down must come up ?" Well now we hope it will climp up up and away.

Wah most of the shares' prices are very low.

If you don't want to buy shares now then when will it a good time to buy? People are funny cos they will follow the herd instinct and keep buying when the shares are going up like crazy. Don't do that ok! Buy when the market is down like now but must prepared to keep them for the medium to long term. Then when the market turns around which it will, you off loaded your shares, take profit and wait for the bear to come in again.
On my advice, one of friends bought SIA yesterday when it was trading at $11.08 to $11.36. He grabbed 4,000 at $11.09. Today SIA shares closed at $11.20 and so it is near break even point (Online trading commission is a fraction of what you would pay if you traded through your remisser).
Btw SIA is paying a dividends of 10 cents for each share on 2 December 2011. It's not much cos the profit is down last quarter.

Actually this is the best time to get into the market. The average price eg like SIA is about S$11. Go for it cos it's really cheap. Genting (S) is now trading at $1.70 with heavy volume. Buy Genting like I did 2 weeks ago. I bought them at $1.50 and sold them yesterday for $1.67 a piece. More than 10% profit hor?
Take your money out of the bank and buy some good dividends yielding shares like F&N, SIA, OCBC,DBS, Genting S'pore etc.

SIA is giving out a $1.20 for every share and this is good news.
Current price as at 27/5/11 is $14.22. Don't buy at this price. be patient and wait
for it to come down after ex dividend.

Sold Genting SP

I sold all my Genting SP at an verage price of $2.19. My b/e price was 2.09,thus making a profit of 10cts per share. Today,it closed at $2.08 due to the South Korean live firing exercise and the North threat of relatiation.
We will see how it perform tomorrow.

Last week after the news that North Korea attacked a South Korean island the share market took a beating. Genting SP was down to as low as 1.92. Today it went up as high as 2.13 before closing at 2.09 with a heavy volume of close to 200 million shares exchanged hand.

Genting Sp closed at $2.04 Friday 19 Nov. By tomorrow 22 Nov my prediction is it will go up to $2.10. Buy now as the target price in the short term is $2.40

Genting SP went down to as low as 1.84 a few days ago.
It should climb beyond the $2 mark from now. You may still go in and buy and make money because I believe it will go to 2.20 before end of next week.

It's 4:18pm on 28 Sept 2010 and Genting SP is down to $1.94. I think it would be a good buy at this price although I've earlier stated it would be a good buy at around $1.50 something. I was a bit ambitious then. Don't think it can go down to that figure so grab them at $1.94 to $1.96 and sell when it rises to $2.10 or more.

The Dow is currently down again to below the 10,000 point level. Singapore ahs been down too. Is this the start of the Bear run? Let's hope not.

Local Market is sick

The Dow was up for the last 3 sessions ( about 260 pts) and the SIN market is declining. Well it's good buying opportunity now so don't miss it!
The local market WILL turn around and the index will reach 3,000 pts soon.
For those who have bought and suffering paper losses just hold on to your shares cos they will go up inevitably.

S'pore up despite Dow's down

The S'pore market fared better even though the Dow was down by 100 pts last night. S'pore market closed 51 pts up.

SIA was up 18 to 14.50
DBS up 14 to 14.40
UOB up 54 to 18.80
CityDev up 30 to 10.72
UOL up 17 to 3.93
SGX up 12 to 7.75

Tonight the Dow should be in the plus by at least 80 or more pts. and that's my bet.

The Dow was down 23 pts last night after a 2 day rally.

The S'pore market opened in negative territory. As I am typing, it is down by 16 pts. Lets wait and see how the market is going to fare later in the day.

Oo la la.....index up 43.9 pts at closing. At one stage SIA share went up by $1.20 on news that it has made a profit of $404 million dollars during the quarter up to December. It closed $14.52 up 86 cts.

DBS did well too. It went up by 42 cts to $14.50.

UOB up 44 cts to $18.54.

CityDev up 30 to $10.80.

Ezra up 21 to $2.28.

APB up 10 to 12.38.

What's in store for tomorrow? My bet is the Dow will be up tonight followed by S'pore market......another good today tomorrow.

Oh la la Dow is up again

Before the Singapore stock market opens,I would like to inform you that the Dow is up 111 pts or 1.1% last night. The day before it was plus 118 pts and yet the S'pore market was in the minus territory. This is a pre S'pore market prediction....do you think our local market is going the same way as yesterday? Nope is my answer. It is 7 am now in S'pore and the market here opens at 9 am so lets see.

Bad was the word for the market after lunch break. It was down towards most part of the afternoon. Most shares were battered badly eg. DBS closed at $14.08 down 8 cts, SIA down 20 cts to $13.66,Kim Eng dwon 10 cts to $2 flat but APB up 18 cts to $12.28 (the drunkards support it), UOB down 14 cts to $18.10.......

Let's see what's in store for the stock market tomorrow. In fact if you ask me this would a good time to pick up stocks because most of them are cheap as compared to 2 weeks ago. Go in man otherwise how to make money huh? Never buy when the market is up and up ok!

The ST index is up 15 points following a rally on Dow Jones last night which was up 118 points. The mood looks bullish but you never
never know what can happen later in the day.

My tips for you to buy shares

The ST index is down about 9 points as I am typing. The Dow Jones were down for the last few sessions and consequently the world share market follow suit.
Here in Singapore,most of the stocks were badly beaten. A few weeks ago the DBS share was at S$15.50, SIA was $14.80,UOB was at $20, OCBC Bank was above $9, CityDev was $12 etc etc.

Today, DBS is struggling to reach $14.18, SIA is $13.74, CityDev is $10.54 etc.

My advice is to buy on weakness and the time is now. Grab UOB which is $18.20 now, DBS at $14.24 to 14.28 or cheaper shares like UIC at $1.90 or APB at $12.04 or Kim Eng at $1.93 and so on.

Take a middle term say around 2 to 4 weeks from now,barring a steep downturn of the world economy, you should see those shares I have mentioned to climb by around 10% at the least. Mark my words.
